I did it!

I dread flipping the sofa forward to find out what is behind it! Well, I did it today. The kids acted like they won the lottery when they found that lost toy. It's cute, and we have fun with the mess. By the time we were done, we had a clean floor behind the couch, AND we had happy kids in the process. I saw my 2 year old pick up a lost cheerio, and yes, he ate it before I could get to him! Kids are too funny! I am so blessed, even in the craziness of everyday life. How do you go about showing your own children how working together helps everyone? (and possibly helps you to find a lost toy! :)

Beauty through the Messes

See the beauty in honesty.  Do you ever feel like you are just trudging through the day to day life? Cleaning up messes, changing diapers, doing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning up food left behind from your children...  You are doing a beautiful thing, my friend.  You are being Jesus to your family.  You are serving with a servants heart without expecting anything in return except hugs and kisses, and in my case with three boys, tackles and races around the house!  All I can do is chuckle lightly when I get to the end of the day and my place seems to be in utter disarray.  Yes, I could get all frustrated and angry at all that I did not get done and how much more I have than yesterday, but I am changing the tide.  I won't go there anymore.  I have a purpose, and that is to pour into the lives of my husband and children.  I can't always do dishes while I play cars, or kiss boo-boos.  Dishes can wait, they never change, but my children grow faster than I can bat my eyelashes.  Take in each moment, and don't let it slip away.  The good and the bad.  The ugly and the stinky.  Every moment is a moment to touch a life.
